Letter Recognition by Gwimpy app for iPhone and iPad

This programme has been developed in line with the UK National Curriculum. The letter progression is presented in a precise order to mirror the suggested introduction of letters of the alphabet. The phonic sound is presented with each letter or combination of letters with an appropriate animated picture of a word that relates to the phonic sound. The child can rehearse the first steps of writing the letter by tracing the letter shapes. Like all of the games developed by Gwimpy, the child should be guided by a parent and not left to flick through on their own, further words should be suggested also to develop a rich variety.
